Our Special this week is  our Turmeric & Honey Butter! Created from alive, sesame seeds, turmeric and honey. Alive and organic. Regularly $14.99. Yours for $11.99.

Brothers and sisters, as the days get noticeably longer it's time to think about germinating seeds. Ben, our favorite gardener, gives us some knowing tips on getting those seedlings going for a vibrant Spring planting. Note how he classifies vegetables into their need for warmth to facilitate germination with lettuce and kale needing the least and tomatoes and peppers needing considerably more.

Our Victory Garden sale this month features Sunflower Butter, Hazelnut Chocolate Almond Butter and Bing Cherries. We offer 10% off. (Remember, if you buy 3 or more of any Living Tree manufactured product, you get an additional 10% off!)

Our Black Sesame Tahini is now available in a 16oz jar. It is nutrient dense and satisfyingly good. Now tahini made from white sesame seeds is the prime ingredient in making hummus and baba ganoush. Image substituting black sesame tahini. Your friends will be in awe!

We follow with a video by AL Madinah Nourishment on the health benefits of black sesame seeds.

We invite you to enter our contest for recipes featuring our tahini.

Then there is a critique by Kristina Marusic of the attitude that we should no longer worry about preventing cancer because the treatment has gotten so much better. The author shows that this is the height of folly.

We  conclude with a video on how to improve circulation in one’s legs.  Bob and Brad, the most popular physical therapists on the web, guide us in some simple exercises.

With best wishes for vibrant good health to you and family,

Spread it on apple slices as well as celery and carrot sticks. Try adding chopped raisins and dates too – what hor d’oevres you’ll make!

Starting with almonds grown by California family farmers, we’ve added Oregon grown hazelnuts and our organic dark chocolate. The flavors of the butter are accentuated by our organic Hawaiian Native Forest Honey and pink crystal salt. It is produced slowly, in small batches, to give it a wondrous, creamy texture.

We Should Get Rid of the Toxic Exposures That Cause Cancer — Not Normalize the Disease

Remote image

By Kristina Marusic

I was shocked to see a blatant attempt to normalize cancer as an inevitability in a recent Washington Post op-ed by former environmental reporter David Ropeik.

While Ropeik reasonably notes that some cancers (prostate) are overtreated, the rest of his argument is absurd. Of course, Americans have reason to fear the second leading cause of death in the U.S. — particularly when 90 to 95% of cancer is preventable.

Any cancer survivor will tell you they’d have preferred prevention over a cure. Treatment is painful and many survivors experience side effects and additional health problems related to the disease or its treatment that linger for a lifetime.

This outlook posits that survival is all that matters and is the best we should dare hope for, denying the universal human desire for a healthy, comfortable quality of life for ourselves and the people we love.

Suggesting that we should no longer worry about preventing cancer because treatments have gotten better is like saying cars have gotten much safer, so none of us should bother wearing seatbelts anymore.
