Video: Apropos Inflation and the Greatest Generation

Dear brothers and sisters,

Let’s talk about the greatest generation.Let’s begin with 1929 the year of the implosion, the most severe economic crisis the US ever experienced. Unemployment rose as high as 25% in the depression that followed.

You endured that misery, hunger and degradation for over a decade.

In Sept 1939 Germany invaded Poland.In 1940 Germany invaded France,Netherlands,Norway and most of Europe. 

While in Asia, Japan had invaded the northeast Chinese province of Manchuria in 1931. In 1937 it took on all of China.It seemed that sooner or later the US would be involved. 

It happened. On December 7 it happened with the attack on Pearl Harbor. Your reaction was first shock and then righteous anger. You declared war on Japan. Within days Germany and Italy declared war on you.

In your resolve you became united as never before. In the four years of  war, you produced a staggering 300,000 airplanes, 100,000 tanks and armored cars, 64,000 landing ships, 6000 Navy ships, 6M tons of bombs and hundreds of thousands of trucks and jeeps.

All this coming  from a place in 1940 wherein we were still suffering the effects of the depression and 9 million workers remained unemployed.       

On the beaches of Normandy,in the jungles of Guadacanal,in the Battle of the Bulge you showed the world  your indomitability. You came through in the bloodiest and most horrific war in history. You were the greatest generation. You saved humankind from radical evil.

That is why I am confident that you will brush aside the fear and delirium. You will get back to prevention. Your first step will be to consign ultra processed food to the dust bin of history. 

You will proclaim a national fast. That’s right, one day of just drinking water.

You will laugh at the pandemic with green drinks of lettuce, kale, Swiss chard, spinach parsley and celery. You will rejoice in vigorous exercise.

You will rejoice in vitamin D from sources such as wild  salmon, sardines, shittaki mushrooms and sunbathing.                         

You will rejoice in zinc from lentils, beans and chickpeas.

You will rejoice in selenium from Brazil nuts.

You will take frequent saunas.

You will turn your backyard into a victory garden.

You will come through,

You will stand up and be counted… for life.

How do I know? Abraham Lincoln prophesied it:-

that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom-and that government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth”.

Recipe: Oatmeal Smoothie

This oatmeal smoothie tastes just like a cinnamon oatmeal cookie, but in smoothie form. It's healthy, packed with over 20 grams of protein and makes for a great breakfast or post-workout snack! Vegan + gluten-free.

Ingredients:

  • 1 frozen banana, (chopped into chunks)

  • ½ cup unsweetened almond milk , or oat milk, plus more as needed to reach desired consistency 

  • 3 Tablespoons old fashioned rolled oats

  • 1 scoop (25 grams) vanilla protein powder, I used Nuzest

  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Place banana, milk, oats, protein powder, cinnamon, and vanilla in a high-powered blender and blend until smooth.

  • If the smoothie is too thick, add a little more milk.

  • Pour into a glass or bowl (depending on whether you want to use a spoon or straw) and top with your favorite smoothie toppings.
