Product Description

Spirulina is a form of blue-green algae.  It is a simple, one-celled organism that got its name from the Latin word for “helix” or “spiral” because its shape resembles a metal spring.
Spirulina is the most nutrient dense food on the planet.  It is 67% protein.  Our spirulina is grown in the Andes at 9000 ft.  The farm is right on the Equator so it receives optimal, streaming sunlight.  Fed by glacial melt water.
According to Naturalnews.com [July 23, 2013]:

Research published in the Journal of Medicinal Food reveals that spirulina protects unborn babies from being damaged by cadmium exposure.

This is a hugely important finding because cadmium, a highly-toxic heavy metal, is routinely found in rice and other common foods. Even organic brown rice often contains as much as 3 ppm of cadmium, Natural News has learned from laboratory tests.

Use in trail mixes, toss into salads, yogurt, ice cream, garnishes and puddings.  Use as croutons in alive soups.

Country of Origin: Ecuador
