Notable and Quotable:
The Extinction of Fruits and Vegetables in 80 Years
(NaturalNews)Seeds represent the foundation of life. We depend on them for food, for medicine and for our very survival. In many ways, you can trace the underpinnings of any given culture through the heritage of their crops and seeds.
It wasn’t long ago when seeds were mostly the concern of farmers who, as the Worldwatch Institute put it, “were the seed producers and the guardians of societies” crop heritage. But this is no longer the case.
Once considered to be the property of all, like water or even air, seeds have become largely privatized, such that only a handful of companies now control the global food supply.
Agriculture has been around for 10,000 years, but the privatization of seeds has only occurred very recently. In that short time, seed diversity has been decimated, farmers have been put out of business due to rising seed costs – and the pesticide companies that control most seeds today have flourished.

I’m a Glorious Elder and I take “count our days” to mean “cherish our
days”. Each day can be a gift, or not, depending on how it’s lived.
Thanks SO MUCH for my dried tomatoes that arrived today!! Just what I wanted and eat half the bag! I will be ordering from you from now on. A real pleasure to do business with you. Thanks Again.
We are Glorious Elders and have been eating many of your products for many years now! The best, freshest food we have ever eaten. Thank you for providing us with healthy, delicious food.
This dark bar of chocolate has a beautiful tinge of red. Very smooth, creamy, faintly sweet, revealing floral and nutty notes, slightly bitter, and remarkably no salt. Such a strong chocolate flavor yet not that strong bitter after taste. Love the fact that it is made with a touch of coconut sugar, which is low on the glycemic level. All in all, an amazingly superior tasting dark chocolate bursting with such alive flavors. Kind Regards
Dear Living Tree Community Foods — We just LOVE your nut butters. My husband has a hard time putting on weight. Since switching to eating your nut butters, he has been able to put on some good weight. He eats about a cup per day with some ripe fruit. Yummy! One of his favorite meals is 2 or 3 apples (chopped up), 3/4 cup Macadamia butter, 1/4 cup ground up golden flax seed, and a little salt — mixed all together. That gives him go-power for hours.

Greetings from Texas,
Several years ago, I happened on to your almond butter and ordered it a lot. In 2007, I went on a nutrient dense eating regime built around smoothies. I went on to lose 80 pounds, (which I have kept off ever since.) I used your almond butter primarily in my homemade chocolate sauce that I put on Breyers vanllla ice cream, the only brand I could get that did not contain hfcs and other junk, the treat that I allowed myself from time to time.
In 2010, life got complicated and I had to move to take care of my elderly Mom, who passed in 2012. Then I was preoccupied with some dental issues and skin cancer surgeries. I did not think about almond butter until recently. My daughter moved in next door a few months back and I am trying to teach her how to eat the way that I eat. I remembered the almond butter. I went to my local supermarket and looked at their almond butters. Even the organic brands contained all sorts of other ingredients that I did not think should be there. I did not buy any. I came home and tried to find you. I did not remember your name, and could not find you in a general Internet search. Yesterday, I cleaned out my freezer and found a small sealed bag of raw almonds that you sent me back when I was ordering. Eureka, it had your name on it, so I quickly found you and just placed an order for almond butter and some other things that my daughter and I want to try. I am looking forward to my order.
I requested the free raisin sample, as I will turn 70 this year.
I am so glad that I found you.

Invest in the Berkeley Olive Grove
At the turn of the 20th century, a group of professors from the University of California at Berkeley determined to make a magnificent olive orchard. They chose land in the Central Valley about 150 miles east of Berkeley. They called it the Berkeley Olive Grove. For over 100 years it has yielded the finest olive oil. Darro Grieco, award winning family farmer, is master of the Grove. He invites you to join with him and his family in his growing enterprise.
Darro and Olivia are the masters of the Berkeley Olive Grove. They embue the soul of our Heritage Olive Oil with their enthusiasm, spirit and intentionality.
If you hear a voice within you say, ‘You cannot paint’, then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced.
