Video: Our Four Fold Journey Toward Vibrant Good Health

Dear brothers and sisters,

We were there when the raw food movement was just getting started here in California. We subsequently attended seminars, symposia, workshops and talks with some leading thinkers and innovators. We have always regarded ourselves as experimenters and on the basis of our own experience have shifted out, over the years, what we take to be its puissant ideas. We’ve distillated them into what we call a fourfold program toward vibrant good health consisting of Green Drinks, Intermittent Fasting, Vigorous Exercise and Victory Gardens.

We are pleased to present this to you; we would so much appreciate your comments and suggestions.

With good wishes for vibrant good health to you and family,

Jesse Schwartz PhD

Black Beans – Organic

Our Local Organic Black Beans are grown by an Elmira farmer and inventor. Although he prefers his privacy and is publicity-shy, his thoughts and discoveries can be accessed online, where he openly shares Appropriate Technology for Small and Subsistence Farms at http://www.efn.org/~itech/.

The website states that his designs are public domain, a gift to humanity, and encompass a wide spectrum of topics, from how to grow organic black beans in the valley, to solutions for weed control and pests, to instructions on how to build a wood dryer, grain huller, grain thresher, and winnower. He has been growing black beans for Hummingbird for so many years, we’ve lost count!

“Whitman” Hazelnut Almond Chocolate Butter – Alive & Organic

Created from almonds grown by California family farmers and hazelnuts grown by Oregon family farmers.
We’ve named it after Walt Whitman who wrote,
I hear America singing, the varied carols I hear,
Those of mechanics, each one singing his as it should be blithe and strong,
The carpenter singing his as he measures his plank or beam,
The mason singing his as he makes ready for work, or leaves off work,
The boatman singing what belongs to him in his boat, the deckhand singing on the steamboat deck,
The shoemaker singing as he sits on his bench, the hatter singing as he stands,
The wood-cutter’s song, the ploughboy’s on his way in the morning, or at noon intermission or at sundown,
The delicious singing of the mother, or of the young wife at work, or of the girl sewing or washing,
Each singing what belongs to him or her and to none else,
The day what belongs to the day—at night the party of young fellows, robust, friendly,
Singing with open mouths their strong melodious songs.

We make our Hazelnut Almond Chocolate Butter in Berkeley; one of the great centers of learning. Twenty-five Nobel prize winners have taught here.

Coconut Flour – Alive & Organic

Coconut flour is a delicious, gluten-free and beneficial alternative to other flours.

It is high in fiber, protein and healthy fats and free from wheat and other grains. It is also low in sugar, digestible carbohydrates and calories. Plus, this flour has a low score on the glycemic index.

This makes it a favorite among Paleo dieters, gluten-free eaters — including those with celiac disease or a gluten sensitivity — those with digestive problems, anyone with a nut allergy, those with diabetes, vegetarians and just about everyone else in between.

In reality, coconut flour is not actually “flour” in the way we normally think of it. It contains zero grains and consists of 100 percent pure coconut meat.

John Muir Almond Butter Bytes – Alive & Organic

Created from almonds grown in California’s great Central Valley by the Koretoff family. They’ve been farming in California for five generations. Each byte is wrapped in gold foil to denote the intentionality they devote to growing the almonds. They are the true husbandmen of their soil and trees.

We make our bytes in Berkeley; a great center of learning. Twenty-five Nobel prize winners have taught there.

Almond Cashew Brazil Nut Millennial Butter – Alive & Organic

Dedicated to Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, the creative geniuses who have done so much to shape the modern epoch.
Starting with almonds grown by California family farmers, we’ve added Brazil Nuts.
Dr.Mercola tells us,”Brazil Nuts are an important source of selenium.Selenium is a trace element a Swedish chemist, Baron Jöns Jacob Berzelius, discovered almost 200 years ago. Today, modern scientists recognize it as “an essential mineral of pivotal importance for human health,” with anti-inflammatory, antiviral and anti-cancer potential. This mineral is also a powerful antioxidant, which plays itself out in many ways in regard to your health.”

We’ve added cashews for smoothness and spreadability along with California sundried raisins, honey for delight and a pinch of Royal Himalayan Pink Crystal Salt to bring out the flavors.

Sesame Tahini – Organic

Tahini breaks out as a Mainstream Ingredient, as consumers look for more unique foods to try. Use it in alive pies, yogurt bars and smoothies. Think of tahini date cookies; combine with cooked chickpeas for hummus, combine with honey for halva.

Made from alive, organic sesame seeds grown by Mexican family farmers. We make our tahini slowly, over several days; we slice, we do not grind.

We use mechanically hulled sesame seeds

Almond Butter – Alive & Organic

We began making almond butter over 25 years ago. Over the years, we have developed a proprietary process: we make the almond butter slowly, over several days. We slice the almonds and never grind them, which exposes the nut to the least heat possible to keep the flavors and properties of the raw nut intact. We make it frequently, in small batches, so it’s fresh and alive.

Golden Turmeric Butter – Alive & Organic

Beginning with turmeric, we have added raisins, honey, sesame and spices to bring you a delightful spreadable. We urge you to research what people are saying about the qualities of turmeric.

Chia Cherry Blueberry Cranberry Butter – Alive & Organic

We have combined chia seeds with Oregon grown Blueberries, California cherries and Cranberries. We’ve also added Black Sesame Oil (more than 60% omega-3 fatty acid), honey and a dash of Royal Himalayan Pink Crystal Salt.
The Native Americans of the Southwest would eat only chia seed mixed with water as they ran from the Colorado River to the Pacific Ocean to trade products. Its high energy to weight ratio makes it a favorite choice of long distance runners and other athlete.

We Welcome Investors

Demand for organic food is booming. Last year sales of organic products jumped 11% to more than $39 billion. Also, the number of US organic farmers and processors has grown by 250% since 2002, when the natural organic program began. Indeed, organic food production has more than tripled since that time.

Thanks to your kind support, we too are growing. We wish to hire more teamworkers and to purchase tools and equipment. We are seeking long term, stable capital. If taking a strategic position in the organic food industry appeals to you, let’s talk!
